Fairy Doors
We got back last week from a trip to Michigan (Go Spartans!) which started with a trip to Ann Arbor. Let me take a moment to sing the praises of the best tourism approach ever: fairy doors.
That’s right. Fairy doors. You can pull up–or print out–a map of the downtown area where all the fairy portals into the fairy dimension are located. They’re no bigger the a hand, so you have to look closely, but there are tiny doors scattered everywhere. They have pennies (and sometimes little candies or even packets of jellies) left as gifts for the fairies. There’s a miniature fairy ticket window in a local theater, a fairy coffee shop inside a human coffee shop, and a fairy boutique. You can read about them at urban-fairies.com . Fairy doors in Birmingham, anyone?
